Tomberg Family Philanthropies Funding Education and Poverty Alleviation

Our Letter of Inquiry submission period is now open and will close on September 7, 2021.

The following is a description of our grants. Please read this before requesting support.
The Tomberg Family Philanthropies has made two significant changes to our application process for this grant cycle.

Funding Areas: Normally we also support projects in the environment and health areas, but we found that those funding areas had received extra support over the past few years. Therefore, we are only reviewing proposals in education and poverty alleviation for this funding cycle. We will again be supporting projects in the environment and health funding areas in future years. Current grantees may submit requests for continued funding for the project we funded in 2020 – 2021 regardless of the funding area.
Submission Timing: Previously no preference was given to Letters of Inquiry that we received earlier in the submission period. However this year, once the submission period opens, do not delay submitting your Letter of Inquiry to receive a thorough, multi-person review of your submissions. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications received, we can only commit to this level of review for those Letters of Inquiry submitted earlier in the application process. We will consider all valid submissions received before September 7, 2021, but earlier submissions will be prioritized to receive the most thorough consideration.

The Tomberg Family Philanthropies only makes grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the United States and certain government entities or public institutions in the United States such as public schools and universities. We fund projects worldwide that are run by these organizations.

Our grants normally range from $5,000 to $15,000.
